What's age got to do with it?
The thought of turning 30 when I was 20 seemed like a terrible idea. Obviously it was a reality that I could never escape. I remember looking at people who were 30 and thinking, and here I have to add that I'm embarrased by this, but yes, I thought they were old. Fast forward to now, and indeed that's exactly how it feels, and I find myself approaching 40.
So how do I feel? Do I feel ancient if 30 seemed old? The answer is quite the opposite. I feel bloody great! I'm more confident than I was in my 20's, I'm way healthier, fitter and I also have better friends and generally a better outlook on life.
That's not to say that those things only come with getting chronologically mature, but for me, age has done absolutely nothing to hinder all the things that I naively thought age would do.
So that begs the question, 'what's age got to do with it?'.
This blog is about exploring ideas around age, dispelling the negative social construct about what people of a certain age should and can do, what they look like, how they act, e.t.c., and basically giving the middle finger to ageism in all it's forms.
Because everyone knows that the riper the fruit, the sweeter the taste.
